when the parents came to visit.

loads of photos ahead..

been really lazy to update.
but finally... i've decided that it's been too long since i've updated.
after stalking reading all the other blogs, it makes me wanna update this blog

i'm currently going into my 5th week of placement
oh, how time has flew past.
before i started my placement,
i was both nervous and excited.
nervous because i didn't know what to expect seeing that the way children learn here is so much more different than back home

my weeks of placement here has been really really fruitful
i can truly see God working in my life over here

especially when i needed to find a church to settle down into
amazing how God works =)

outside of crumpler
watching how they make the bags one by one
no wonder it's so expensive

in camberwell market

next are some of the food that we've eaten
will not post up all
i'll just post up the ones that i enjoyed the most!

however, i didn't enjoy this muffin at all
halfway through, i bit a huge chunk of plastic

satisfying some cravings

i enjoy fish and chips so much over here

had to order this when i saw the other table having it
i love eating this

couldn't pick strawberries that day
because they said it wasn't very good
it was only for the children

eggs here are all happy & smiley

our neighbor was getting married

opposite our house is a police building.
they were practicing that day
at night there were 3 of them
notice the guy looking out?
at one point he waved at me.
they were super near our balcony

my famous dish for now
stir fried beef with spring onion

attempted to cook some string beans

view from our balcony
it was such a gloomy day

i had to cut 18 wings
almost had blisters on my fingers
my fingers were so sore after.
could feel that i've used all the muscles of my body
at one point i was literally jumping to get the knife chopping
didn't have appetite to eat the wings that night

another attempt but this time with broccoli
oh. a failure it was

attempted to bake my very first muffin
pre-mix though

no after shot
because it looked DAMN horrible
it didn't taste very nice as well

not yam yam
but yan yan
it tasted nice though
had a sudden flashback to when i was young

lovely.

here in melb,
i've learned many things.
one of the things i've learned is that
every start of a new season,
there'll be festivals or carnivals.

i went to one in st. kilda
which was some festival..
can't remember what festival was it.
then, since it's supposed to be autumn now,
we had moomba.

we went on the 1st night where there weren't many people.
which was nice.
didn't have to share space with other people
though it may seem a little dead...
but i prefer dead than CROWDED areas.

wasted $12 just cause i wanted a toy
could have wasted more
but decided that it's not worth it.
i was told that i could just go to a toyshop and get a nicer, cleaner toy
wished that he was here though..
since he tried to get me a soft toy when we went to genting for
his birthday
but we failed terribly
and wasted alot of money
bah

the festival goes on for 3 days.
on the 2nd and 3rd night, there'll be fireworks
went on the last night and woah!
it was so awesome!
wished even more that he was here
because i've always loved the idea of watching fireworks with my boyfriend =P

SUPER grand finale

*******

another thing that i've learned here
are the cultures that we have in my class,
we have people from all over the world.
such as japan, korea, china, sri lanka, lebanon, astonia, mexico, chile, columbia, turkey, kenya, philippines, india, pakistan, and of course, malaysia.

today, i was talking to a turkish classmate
and i found out that once a girl gets serious with a guy,
they are required to get engaged and marry immediately.
so my friend,
she got to know her boyfriend for 6 months because she kept it a secret from her parents
once she told her parents bout him,
her father asked her to get engaged and marry immediately
before their neighbors think otherwise.

i found it so fascinating
here i am...
waiting for the day that i can get married (crazy, i know)
and she's engaged and getting married in nov.
she's only 20 and her boyfriend is 23.
how niceeee
sigh *daydreams*

tell me how i'm supposed to breathe with no air.

when my father was here.. he found out that early in the morning we can see hot air balloons from our balcony. it was so nice. when i was younger i've always wish of going up on one of those hot air balloons but have never had the chance to.

maybe one day, one day i'll save some money and go on it with kevin. it's not THAT expensive anyways

trying.

though it's been a month plus since i've been here..
i'm still trying to adjust to this new lifestyle.

having the need to plan my own money,

do the laundry,

learn how to cook,

go places on my own,

travel by public transport.

things has certainly not been easy.
i did not have to worry much back home.
i was lazing around,

everywhere was familiar ground,

i always knew what to wear when i needed to go out,

(don't have to check the weather)
i could drive or be driven around.

being away from familiar places and faces,

being away from him,

is definitely not easy.

now,

i tend to not think bout it.

fill myself with as many things possible

so as to not let my mind wander and miss home.

classes are everyday.

thank God i have friends in class.

thank God for His blessings here.

thank God for blessing my parents so that i can be here.

at crown
waiting in the long queue to eat at sante

btw, if you think andrea's heels are high...
should come here and see.
you'll wonder how they can walk

i miss.

i miss home.

i miss my parents.
i miss church.
i miss friends.
i miss driving.
i miss cookie.
i miss the house.
i miss my room.
i miss my computer.
i miss the food.

i miss him,
spending time,
hanging out,
hugging,
watching movies,
talking anytime we want,
seeing him everyday.

it's gonna be a month.

it's gonna be a month since i've been here. time certainly is passing really fast. can't wait for my parents to come then for kevin to come. been trying to do things on my own. sometimes it's a bit difficult because i'm still getting used life here. still have yet learned how to walk around in the city alone. thank God my course is not so bad because i have studied most of it. it's just that their approach is a lil different here. but it's good...

the view from the house is nice. loads of lights from the buildings. we can see the train station as well so we can hear trains coming and going daily. but it's not THAT loud. on the 1st night (i think) we stayed in the new place, there were loads of helium balloons flying up in the sky and one came into our balcony.

so we sort of have a welcome-ing party. i treat it that God is welcome-ing us to this new place. but the balloon didn't last very long because it was tied to the sliding door that was constantly opening and closing.
