don't do the durian!

intrigued? this was the title for my QT today


it was talking bout this guy who made a trip to asia and was warned by colleagues not to try the durian. however, he tried it and it was surprisingly not bad.

he related it to the story of Moses teaching the Israelites that God provides, but we don't always obediently accept or honor His provision.

there were spies who said that there was good food in the land that God provided but the people had listened to false reports and were filled with fear. they decided "not to do the durian".




hmmm... for me, not so much of false reports but it's just fear. i was encouraged or advised to work next year cuz of certain reasons and i'm not even contemplating it.

everytime i try to sit down and think bout it. whether i can cope or not (i think i can. just need to manage my time well. but i refuse to do that). i would rather not think about it.

u know the feeling u get when ur gonna leave ur boyfriend/girlfriend behind to further ur studies overseas? like u don't even wanna picture it. don't even wanna think bout the day where u really really HAVE to do it. yeah... kinda like that.

honestly, i'm not even praying bout it. sigh.




God, is this the "good fruit" that u want me to do?



what has God provided for u that u have rejected cuz of someone's negative comments? the Lord brings "good fruit" our way - ministry opportunities, new activities, and changes of direction.

if through prayer, study of His Word, and godly counsel, u determine that He has laid new "fruit" before u, go for it.


come on, do the durian!
