Day 4 - drive from Launceston to Hobart
The whole drive took us about 8 hours because we took a detour to see Bay of Fires and Wineglass Bay. We managed to see the Bay of Fires but not Wineglass Bay. It was because we needed to trek about 30-40 mins one way up a hill in the national park to see the view of Wineglass Bay. Seeing that we reached there at 2ish and being behind time, we decided not to go see it
We took the long way to Hobart on the coastal drive. But we didn't see much which was quite a let down
We took turns to drive seeing that it'll take us a long time to reach Hobart. I started driving from 9.40 am after having breakfast till we reached Bay of Fires at 12 ish. Then he drove till we reached the national park to see Wineglass Bay which we didn't end up seeing lol
So he drove from 12 pm to 3ish then I drove until we reached Sorrell (a town before Hobart). We changed drivers there because it was getting dark and I'm not confident with driving in the dark
As I was driving, we passed by quite a few interesting things. For example, seeing a group of turkeys walking around at the roadside, a cow on top of a small hill while the other cows were at the bottom looking at it, and passing a hill called break-me-neck hill
Driving into Hobart was quite exciting seeing the city being livelier than Launceston. It was definitely a good decision to go to Launceston first before going to Hobart. Firstly, the city is much more livelier. The hotel is grander. We have more things to do in Hobart as compared to Launceston
It was such a good day to check into Grand Chancellor Hotel today. The hotel even gave us complimentary champagne. Can't believe we're celebrating our 8th anniversary today. Even though we said we won't celebrate it but it was nice to remember how many years that we've been together
